Dev prayag is located in Tehri garhwal in uttrakhand. Alaknanda river meets the Bhagtrathi river and
both rivers thereafter flow on as the Ganges River of Ganga.
Rghunath temple was originally believed to have been established by Adi Shankara charya during the
8 th century. The temple is located uphill on the Confluence of the Alannanda and Bhagirathi Rivers,
which become River Ganga. Raghunath ji is believed to have performed penance at this place to
relieve himself of the Curse committed by killing Ravana. It believes that the Mythical River
Saraswati flows directly under the deity at the temple.
